How do I find the amount of my Child Tax Credit payments?

For child tax credit inquiries, go to IRS.gov, and find the Child Tax Credit Update portal, then find "Manage Advance Payments." You will need to set up an IRS account if you don't have one.

I need an electronic copy of my tax returns. How do I get that?

All copies of tax returns are available through our secure Client Portal. To register for access, please email [email protected] to request an Onvio registration link or call us at 203-925-9600. If you prefer to receive copies by email, send your request to [email protected] and include the following details: Your full name (and spouse’s name, if applicable), Your current address, The specific tax year(s) you need. We’ll verify your request and email the returns to you. If you’d like us to send them to a third party, please include their full name, company (if applicable), and email address.

What are the benefits of working with a tax professional?

Working with a tax professional offers several benefits, including personalized guidance to maximize deductions and credits, ensuring compliance with tax laws, and reducing the risk of errors on your return. Tax professionals can also provide strategic tax planning, represent you in case of audits, and save you time by managing the complexities of tax filings.

Where's my refund?

To check your federal refund status, visit IRS.gov and select "Get Your Refund Status." From there, click on "Where's My Refund?" and follow the prompts to enter your personal information. For Connecticut refund status, go to portal.ct.gov/drs. Under the "For Individuals" section, click on "Where's My Refund?" and follow the steps to view your refund timeline.

How long does it take to receive my tax refund?

The time it takes to receive your tax refund depends on how you filed. For e-filed returns with direct deposit, refunds typically arrive within 21 days. Paper returns or those opting for a mailed check may take 6 to 8 weeks. Processing times can also be affected by the IRS's workload and any errors or issues with your return.

Supervisor, CPA

Christina Imperioli is a Supervisor at Accavallo & Company, LLC, where she specializes in the preparation and review of individual and business tax returns across a variety of industries. With a focus on accuracy, client service, and technical expertise, she plays a key role in helping clients navigate complex tax matters.

She began her career as a Staff Accountant at The Innovative CPA Group, quickly rising through the ranks to Senior Accountant and ultimately Supervisor, demonstrating a strong commitment to professional growth and leadership.

Christina is a Certified Public Accountant and an active member of both the Connecticut Society of CPAs (CTCPA) and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA). She holds a Bachelor of Business Administration in Financial Accounting from Western Connecticut State University.

Throughout her career, she has worked with clients in the real estate, construction, and retail sectors, bringing valuable insight and industry-specific knowledge to every engagement.

Outside of work, she enjoys traveling with her husband and son, spending time with her three dogs—two rescues named Cole and Indigo, and a Brussels Griffon named Louie—and exploring local bookstores. Christina is a passionate reader and podcast enthusiast, she often listens to new episodes during her daily commute.

Sherri Fisher is a Tax Manager at Accavallo & Company, LLC.  Sherri has longstanding expertise in Trust and Estate Taxation, Eldercare, and Estate planning. Sherri appreciates the relationships she has built with estate planning attorneys and advisors, to provide a team approach to assisting her clients. Sherri also has seasoned experience in business and individual taxation and is partial to assisting start-ups in developing overall accounting and operating plans.

Prior to joining Accavallo & Company, LLC, Sherri was a manager in a large firm, servicing high net worth trust clients, business, and personal clients. She was also a Partner in a large bookkeeping firm, which specialized in cloud accounting systems for regional and national companies. Sherri led a team in assisting clients to organize their accounting systems.  She is a graduate of Florida Atlantic University with a B.S. degree in Accounting.

Sherri enjoys time with her family, Cleveland sports, thrifting and gardening.
