The Connecticut Department of Revenue Services (DRS) has granted extensions to April 15, 2025, for key pass-through entity tax filings in response to challenges with software availability. The affected forms include:
- Form CT-PET – Connecticut Pass-Through Entity Tax Return
- Form CT-1065/CT-1120SI – Connecticut Composite Income Tax Return
- Form CT-PET EXT – Application for Extension of Time
Settlement Initiative: Penalty & Interest Relief
The DRS has also introduced a settlement initiative to accommodate taxpayers affected by software integration delays. Because third-party tax software may not support these forms in time for the original March 15, 2025 deadline, taxpayers must file through the myconneCT online portal.
Under this initiative, taxpayers who:
✔ File the required forms by April 15, 2025
✔ Pay all associated liabilities in full by April 15, 2025
Will not be subject to penalties or interest that would have otherwise accrued between March 15 and April 15, 2025.
Extension Filers
Taxpayers who need an extension must:
✔ File Form CT-PET EXT by April 15, 2025
✔ Pay the full tax amount due by April 15, 2025
Filing an extension will also qualify taxpayers for the penalty and interest waiver, but the final return deadline remains September 15, 2025.
We appreciate the DRS’s responsiveness in providing this relief, which should help reduce stress for partnerships and S corporations navigating this tax season.
